Short-form editing for AI creators & founders

Your ideas are already good. I cut them so people stop scrolling.

Reels, Shorts and TikToks for AI creators, founders and experts who sell what they know. Cut from your talking-head, podcast or long-form, minimal and on brand, not more effects and noise.

The actual problem

Everyone in your niche is starting to look the same.

Same zooms. Same stock B-roll. Same three sound effects. Most short-form editing reaches for volume because volume is easy to show, and the thing that made you worth watching gets buried under it.

A short has about a second to earn the next second. That's won by the first line, the cut on the pause, and the moment you stop performing and just say the thing. It isn't won by a caption template.

I work the other way. I find the strongest 30–60 seconds in what you already said, and I cut everything that stands in front of it.

Rule no. 1If a cut doesn’t move the idea or the feeling forward, it doesn’t survive.

Selected work

Watch a few. You’ll know in ten seconds.

Recent client work: founders, a community brand, and a podcast with a story to tell. Press play; it only loads when you do.

Client · PodcastThe PMP Show: story firstBrief: a Diary of a CEO-style edit for a podcast about endurance athletes and wellbeing. I used DOAC as the reference, then built the show its own style, with the story leading and the effects serving it.
Client · FounderCharlotte Trecartin, founder (Shark Tank, Forbes 30 Under 30)Brief: a clean, feminine look for an audience of young female founders. I built a type-and-colour system from her brief, so every reel reads as hers.
Client · BrandKabul House: a community, explained in a minuteBrief: make the business clear to anyone. Custom visuals and a clean animation show the idea: an Afghan-led community in the US that brings business people from every nation together through food, games and business Q&A.
Client · PodcastThe PMP Show: one emotional beatKinetic captions that follow how he speaks, and a cut that lets the hardest line land before anything moves.
Client · PodcastThe PMP Show: the hook is the storyThe first line is the most surprising thing he says in the whole interview, so it opens the short. Everything after earns the next second.

Every piece is labelled: Client, Own channel or Sample edit. I never imply someone was my client when they weren’t.

In their words

Eighteen months, one agency, and they kept sending work.

For most of the last year and a half I edited for one US agency, DSL, cutting videos for their clients. That’s why the reviews are few: almost all of my work went through them. They kept me because the work kept landing.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mehrshad for 4 months now, and I can confidently say he’s one of the most talented and reliable video editors I’ve worked with.”

Your name could go here. Every free short ends with one question: was it worth it? The honest answers go on this page.

What I do

One thing, properly. And a little extra.

Primary

Short-form editing

Reels, Shorts and TikToks from your raw talking head, your podcast or your long-form. Hook-first structure, clean captions, sound, and B-roll only where it makes the point land.

Also available

Long-form YouTube

If you publish long-form too, I edit that as well, and cut the shorts from the same session so they all sound like you.

On the house

A second pair of eyes on the shoot

When I watch your footage every week, I notice things: how you open, where the light falls off, the second people start drifting. I’ll tell you, and suggest what to change before the next recording. It isn’t a line on the invoice.

Before the first cut

Your videos get their own look, not a template.

Every client starts with a small design system for their videos: a moodboard of what works for their audience, a type pairing, a colour palette and a short kit of assets. It’s built from your brief and the people you’re talking to.

It’s why Charlotte’s reels look like Charlotte and Kabul House looks like Kabul House. It also keeps every short consistent, week after week, whoever is watching.

Want to see a full board from a real project? Ask me and I’ll walk you through one on a call.

Monthly plans

Pick how often you post. I’ll keep up.

A fixed monthly slot is how most people work with me: you record, I deliver on a schedule, and nobody chases anybody.

Starter

8 shorts / month

Two a week. Enough to stay visible while you test what works.

Growth

16 shorts / month

Four a week. Most people end up here.

More than 16?

Ask first

I keep my client list small so every short gets the same care. If you need more, tell me and I’ll say honestly whether I can keep up.

48 hours

Per short on a monthly plan, from the moment footage lands.

72 hours

For one-off projects. Monthly clients are scheduled first.

24 hours

To reply to any message, any working day.

Pricing depends on length and how much footage I’m cutting from, so I quote after your free short, once we both know what the work looks like.

How it works

You see my work on your footage before you pay a cent.

One free short

Send me one video you’ve already recorded. I cut one short from it, free, in your style. If you don’t like it, we part as friends and you keep the short.

A 15-minute brief

Your audience, your references, what you want a viewer to feel, and what you can’t stand. A short form, no meeting needed.

Your design system

A moodboard, fonts, colours and a short asset kit, plus a written page: hook style, captions, pacing, sound, what never gets used. It’s yours to keep, and it’s what we both edit against.

Monthly plan, on a schedule

You send footage, I deliver every 48 hours. You leave timestamped notes, and every note goes into the style sheet, so the same correction never happens twice.

Mehrshad Javid

Who you’re actually working with

Mehrshad Javid.

One editor. Not an agency, not a queue, not a different person every month. The same eyes on your work every week, getting better at it the longer we go.

I don’t just edit content, I make it. In Iran I built my own channels, 52K on Instagram and 10.8K on YouTube, editing every video myself. They’re my test lab: every hook, cut and caption choice I make for you, I’ve already tried on a real audience. Peakline brings that to you.

Before that, I spent years as the edit partner to 100+ American business owners, people publishing every week with their own name on everything that went out. That’s where I learned that consistency is the whole job. I’ve also trained 120+ editors, so I know exactly why a cut works, not just that it does.

Based in Tehran, Iran. I work with clients in the US and Europe, async, and I reply to every message within 24 hours.

Before you ask

The questions people are too polite to ask first.

What if the first edit isn’t what I pictured?
That’s what the free short is for: you see how I think on your own footage before you commit to anything. After that, we agree a written style sheet, so “what you pictured” is on paper before I cut. If an edit misses something we agreed in writing, I fix it at no cost. That’s my mistake, not a revision.
Will my shorts end up looking like everyone else’s?
No templates, no preset packs, no house style pasted over your channel. If a zoom, a sound effect or a caption doesn’t serve the idea, it isn’t there.
Will I have to give the same notes every week?
No. Every note goes into your style sheet, so the same correction never has to happen twice. Most people start by directing and, within a month, are just approving.
How many revisions are included?
One full round on every edit. You leave timestamped comments and I work through all of them together. Rounds after that are billed by the time they take, and I tell you the estimate before I start.
How do I know you won’t go quiet?
I work with a small number of clients at a time, deliberately. You get a delivery schedule when we start, and if anything is going to move you hear it from me before the deadline, not after.
Do you edit long-form too?
Yes. A long-form first cut takes 5–7 days on a monthly plan, 7–9 days as a one-off. If you publish both, I cut the shorts from the same session.
How does payment work?
Invoiced in USD, paid by PayPal or crypto. Monthly plans are paid at the start of the month. You get an invoice every time.
Will you show my videos in your portfolio?
Yes, and I’m upfront about it because it’s a condition of working together: I show short excerpts of the work I did. Never before your video is public. The video itself is yours, completely and permanently.
Have you edited for someone like me before?
Straight answer: most of my client volume came from a hundred-plus American practice owners, dentists through a marketing agency, publishing week after week under their own names. My own channel is about AI and content creation, so if that’s your world, I already speak it. Short-form for creators and founders is the only work I take on now.
Am I talking to a person or a company?
Just me. One editor, one point of contact. You can see my face and hear how I talk before you commit to anything; it’s the video at the top of this page.

Your question isn’t here? . I reply within 24 hours, myself.

Next step

Send me one video. I’ll cut a short from it, free.

A link is fine: YouTube, Drive, Dropbox, anything. Tell me who it’s for and what you want a viewer to feel. You’ll have the short back within 48 hours, and it’s yours to post either way.

One free short per creator. If it’s not a fit, I’ll say so. Send the video by email; ask anything on WhatsApp: +1 (508) 936-3679.
